Specific Duties and
Responsibilities:
Design and architect Microsoft Azure-based cloud infrastructure, considering scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization, so that Verinovum can securely run sensitive workloads within a cloud environment.
Deploy and configure Azure infrastructure components, such as networking, storage, virtual machines, ensuring proper security, connectivity, scalability, and performance.
Monitor and troubleshoot Azure infrastructure, identifying and resolving issues and optimizing resource utilization, maintaining uptime, and making improvements to system features and usability.
Collaborate and assist Information Security to implement security measures and best practices for Azure infrastructure, including network security groups (NSGs), Azure AD integration, SSO, Azure Policy, Conditional Access, and encryption mechanisms.
Collaborate with other technical teams to streamline application deployment and management processes using Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
Conduct regular backups, implement disaster recovery strategies, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure data protection, business continuity, and system reliability in the Azure environment.
Continuously improve and optimize the cloud infrastructure by implementing automation, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and other relevant practices.
Stay updated with the latest Azure services, features, and industry trends, evaluating new Azure offerings for adoption while considering compliance, security, and risk factors, and providing informed recommendations.
Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and processes for reference and knowledge sharing.
Stay current on technology trends and opportunities, including compliance, security, and risk issues.
Provide cloud specific training and mentorship to IT team members.
Provide support to on-premises equipment.
Use trouble-ticketing system to manage and track all work efforts.
Participate in an on-call rotation.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Science, or another related field.
5 (+) years' experience in a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role, specifically with Microsoft Azure.
Expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, including networking, storage, and virtual machines, as well as a strong proficiency in effective security practices to safeguard Azure infrastructure and services.
Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and frameworks.
Proven capability in effectively monitoring and troubleshooting Azure infrastructure by utilizing suitable monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Experience with Ubuntu Linux a plus.
Excellent knowledge of Enterprise IT systems and infrastructure best practices.
Must be able to work within tight deadlines and with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Visio, Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
Experience in healthcare or SaaS desired.
Experience working in HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2 environments preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
